Frankie Muniz strokes not normal, says doctor
For a second time in a year’s span, “Malcolm in the Middle” star Frankie Muniz has suffered a mini-stroke.
It is not normal for a 27 year old young man to have two strokes within a year of each other unless there is a major medical complication or other outside reasons.
Muniz, who turns 28 on Dec. 5, told Us Weekly: “Almost a year to the day, I experienced another mini stroke..”
He tweeted on Monday, Nov. 25. “Hopefully that will be the last. Miserable.”
Dr. Damon Raskin, a double board certified internist, has studied all areas of the human body and shared with us his opinion that strokes are uncommon in young people:
“If Frankie Muniz had another mini-stroke, this is a potentially life threatening condition that needs a complete neurologic and hematologic work-up. There are a variety of medical conditions that could cause this in a young person, including a genetic tendency to form blood clots, or a malformation in his heart or blood vessels. Drugs such as cocaine could also lead to this condition. He would most likely need to stay on medications for life that would thin his blood and prevent future clots. He is at high risk for a future stroke with permanent brain damage including paralysis or even death. It appears that he has been lucky that there have been no permanent consequences to his medical condition.”
