This last week, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kim Richards’ volatile behavior earned her more tabloid headlines as she reportedly melted down at her daughter’s wedding in Mexico, allegedly causing her sober coach to quit, and her daughter to stop speaking with her.

Multiple sources gave TMZ all the poop from south of the border, that Kim was “under the influence of something,” and whatever Kim took or drank, she did so in private, but when she appeared in public she was “a mess.”
The hearsay from the wedding is that Kim got into an altercation with daughter Brooke, right after the wedding, as well as cursing out the groom’s family.
TMZ claims the sober coach “could not control” Kim and left Mexico immediately after the wedding.
The rehab facility in Malibu reportedly gave Kim a “pass” to attend the wedding but gave her a deadline to return Monday, which she had not done. But when we asked Joanne Sprecher, CADC and outreach manager of The Discovery House treatment center in Los Angeles, if this was normal operating procedure, Sprecher told us that this entire scenario should never have happened. “Different facilities have different definitions of what a sober coach is supposed to do. At The Discovery House, it’s a 24-7 job. ”
“Kim needed 24/7 attention with a dedicated focused, sober coach,” explained Joanne, “and leaving out of the country would have never happened under responsible care.”
Following her April arrest, Richards voluntarily checked herself into a rehab program. “It is hard to tell is Kim is merely doing this for more fame and airtime on her reality TV show. Regardless, there needs to be a real commitment on her part to undergo this process, and make a treatment plan and work with an accountable sober coach who can dig deep and stay focused, as addicts are masterful manipulators and concealers. Every treatment plan is as different as each person who comes into rehab and therapy, and Kim Richards clearly needs ongoing support.”
