I owe my survival of the last year and a half to coffee.
This week I turned in the final paperwork for me to complete my credits and get a certificate in geographic information systems – something I’ve worked on daily during that time.
A total of 19 units while working part time or freelancing with a family is no joke.
Usually I got whatever was on sale at the time, already ground. I don’t really grind my own coffee during the year, save for during the holidays, when we host Christmas Day breakfast and I get some elegant coffee to treat the family with.
Well, this year, I am getting a break with my units done, so i am happy to be able to get up and grind my own coffee to enjoy all day (because two boys keeps me on my toes!)
This year we will be brewing Dancing Moon Coffee Company for Christmas morning breakfast, and I can’t wait to share this with my family.
Dancing Moon Coffee Company is certified organic and fair trade and donates 5% of its profits to the Semper Fi Fund, which supports injured Marines and their families.
I know you’re trying to smell the screen right now. It’s that good.
I am a fan of a dark roast, so I tried the Gourmet Blend and loved it! I always brew coffee in my Mr. Coffee and add milk or almond milk, but this morning I added honey and cinnamon for a sweet treat.
My youngest is a big fan of smells, so he loved smelling my little grinder after I ground up the beans – it smelled divine.
For Christmas, I will be grinding up and brewing the Sumatra Mandheling – which has a lot of antioxidants (apparently three times what green tea has!) and, the part that I love, is mostly grown by small farms. I love supporting any small business, especially during the holidays, and I love being able to treat the family to such a special blend.
Dancing Moon Coffee Company is available through Amazon – it may not make it here before Christmas, but this would be a lovely hostess gift following a holiday visit or a treat to wake up to on New Year’s Day. Or, you know, to celebrate another semester survived for anyone like me that is going to college to make a new career for themselves. (Hint – coffee any time of the year is a boon for mature students!)
Dancing Moon Coffee Company offers bags of whole bean coffee and K-cups for Keurig. It’s also newly available in a 12 oz size for $11.95.
