Are you hoping to turn back the hands of time? A new facelift alternative claims to be able to knock off 10 years from your face and it only takes an hour.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Jack Zamora joins The Doctors to share a procedure that uses stem cells from a patient’s own fat. The procedure involves making 3 small incisions in the face and uses a laser to separate the skin from the muscle where the stem cells will be injected. He claims the stem cells are able to generate new skin, new bone and new muscle in the area where injected. Next he uses plasma energy to tighten the skin, followed by laser resurfacing.
The results of this procedure can last 5 to 10 years and it only takes an hour. The procedure’s downtime includes 3 days of wearing a compression garment.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon says this cannot compete with the results of a traditional facelift, but adds, “For someone who wants a quicker fix, that wants less recovery time, does not want to go under general anesthesia – it’s an alternative.”
Facelifts can cost upwards of $40,000 for a traditional procedure, this option will set patients back anywhere from $4500 to $10,000.
