Kelly Osbourne’s amazing weight loss: Yoga Tune Up devotee shares secrets

Kelly Osbourne’s weight loss and fitness devotion are paying off, the pretty daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and TV star Sharon Osbourne has never looked better.

Kelly Osbourne lost an amazing 42 pounds and she revealed some of her secrets to Redbook.  Osbourne shared she radically altered her diet to limit or eliminate sodas, processed foods and ditched hermicrowave oven. Kelly also shared has some apple before going to bed.

She also is a student of Jill Miller, the creator of Yoga Tune Up® and consultant and producer for Equinox clubs, whose standing room only classes teach self care technique and educate on body awareneness (proprioception).

Osbourne is combining Pilates and her Jill Miller sessions and has dramatically improved her posture.

From Kelly Osbourne:

On Yoga Tune Up classes: “Don’t expect a typical ‘workout.’ If you’re used to other styles of yoga, like Vinyasa, this is definitely not that. There’s a lot of stretching, self-massage, breathing, and props involved, and you hold each pose for 5 to 10 minutes. I did not feel sore the next day, but I woke up more relaxed and comfortable. It can even help you lose weight, since stress makes it harder to drop pounds.”

“Wear clothes that stay put. I got dressed in a loose T-shirt, and it kept rolling up my body till it was around my head. Next time: fitted tank top!”

“It’s great for times when there’s no time. You don’t have to sit and om it out for 25 minutes. Even if you have 5 or 10 minutes to do a few stretches, trust me, you’ll feel more relaxed than you would by vegging in front of the TV for hours.”

On Jill Miller’s breathing tutorial: “There’s a better way to breathe. The instructor [Miler] told me that most people aren’t breathing right. When you inhale, make sure you fill your belly with air, not just your chest. Your tummy sticks out like you’re pregnant. To exhale, push that air up into your lungs and let it out. That’s a complete breath.”
