What is so interesting about Kim Kardashian’s ass?
Comedian and actor Russell Brand weighed in on the saucy shots in his web series, The Trews, on Wednesday.
“I got a text message from a person saying, ‘Have you seen Kim Kardashian’s ass?’ and I thought, ‘Well, yes, more than I’ve seen my own ass,” the humorist joked.
“I’ve only seen my own ass a few times in the mirror…Kim Kardashian’s one I’ve seen quite a lot of. I know it as well as I know my mother’s face.”
Sorry, Kim Kardashian. But you pretty much asked for this with your latest cover pose.
Russell Brand then discusses this cultural “vascular throbbing thing” in detail in the video below as he dissects the whys and why nots of celebrating Kim K’s rear end, splayed in Paper, a magazine that Brand also comments on for its elemental title. He even compares the importance of Michelle Obama compared to the newsworthiness of ass worship currently raging in modern society. Brand says, “What is missing from our culture that Kim Kardashian’s ass can cause such tremendous ripples?”
“We are part of the problem…” says Brand, who says a woman’s ass dominating worldwide conversation is suspect and arguably an issue in itself.
The trend has been growing in the last ten years or so thanks in great part to Jennifer Lopez and that daring green Versace dress, and the rise of the Kardashian clan’s empire, where the girls (except for Kendall) and the mother who seem to have a more womanly physique, which has taken over in popularity due to ass-centric hip-hop urban body standards that rappers love to put on display in their racy videos.
The skinny white chick is out, as well as the emphasis on breasts. The curvaceous and some critics say “fat” or “thick” look is in. But there’s a line between tasteful enhancement and grotesque dysmorphia. That’s where having the right surgeon makes all the difference.
Dr. Constantino Mendieta is the premiere board certified plastic surgeon who wrote the definitive textbook for his peers on fat grafting, called The Art of Gluteal Sculpting. Dr. Mendieta is considered the best at reshaping a body, where he takes unwanted fat from mostly the abdomen in a complex process to get the patient’s adipose (fat) tissue ready for reinsertion back into the same person, by placing the injections carefully where the tissue will be retained and help volumize and fill out flat or problem areas. He tells Monsters and Critics that her extreme hour-glass look is attainable easily though fat grafting and liposuction, specifically from the waist and thighs and then injecting the fat tissue in the desired spot-the bottom-to create this hyper-sexualized ideal female form which is in high demand.
“Kim Kardashian – if this photo is not photoshopped – very likely had her waist sculpted with exercise and perhaps helped with some targeted liposuction, and this fat was possibly injected into her bottom to fill it out. This is what we call the ‘Mendieta technique’ and I perform this type of operation frequently to get that requested South Beach Miami look.”
Paper magazine commented on the photos on their site, saying “For our winter issue, we gave ourselves one assignment: Break The Internet. There is no other person that we can think of who is up to the task than one Kim Kardashian West. A pop culture fascination able to generate headlines just by leaving her house, Kim is what makes the web tick.”
The magazine also features a snapshot of Kardashian balancing a champagne bottle on her famous rear end, to which the featured star Tweeted in response last night:
“And they say I didn’t have a talent… try balancing a champagne glass on your ass LOL #BreakTheInternet #PaperMagazine.”
One actress, Naya Rivera. admonished Kardashian for her revealing photoshoot.
“I normally don’t. But… you’re someone’s mother…” the Glee actress wrote on Kim’s Instagram account.
“She just thinks it’s funny,” an US weekly source says of Rivera’s criticism.
“Naya is such a copycat, always doing whatever Kim does.”
