Mary Murphy talks amazing weight loss, and new Italian Comfort Food diet destination

At the 56th Emmy Awards event, I was shocked when I saw “So You Think You Can Dance” star Mary Murphy, who we’ve been tracking in her weight loss journey with the new Italian Comfort food Diet, Tisanoreica.

“I am at 22.5 pounds and heading fast to my 30 pound weight lossgoal,” said the leggy former dancer, who also shared with me her friendship with diet founder and nutritionist Gianluca Mech. “I love Gianluca, he’s completely rebooted my diet and I just love the Tisanoreica pasta and potato swaps, there’s no carb craving because I can eat the right kind of pastas and lose this stubborn weight.”

Murphy will be seen tonight on KTLA in the Los Angeles market sitting down to show her fans what delicious possibilities exist with the Italian diet that is poised to become a household name. The Tisanoreica diet takes you through an intensive phase first, then the stabilizing and lifestyle phase to keep you from regaining any weight.

Murphy was selected as the new American spokesperson for Tisanoreica by Mech just recently. The former ballroom dancer shared with me that she had gained too much weight over the last few years, creeping up to 170 pounds on her tall frame. “I had to do something fast, and I wanted to dance on the finale of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ with Nigel [Lythgoe]. Tisanoreica was introduced to me at the Italian Cultural Center back in late summer, and I could not believe I was eating this amazing food and that I would be able to lose weight.”

This is where Murphy tells me she met Gianluca Mech, who then selected Mary to represent his diet here in the USA. Her vibrant personality and interest in this lifestyle diet and product line of staple foods that allows you pizza, pasta and other traditionally carb laden goodies was why Mech was sold on her.

Murphy explained to me how it works. “Their products are made with special herbal extracts and fiber that mimic flour and grain, but process differently and allow you to slim down.” Indeed, as all night at the Emmys, Murphy shared her jewelry and dress designer names, and then added “Body By Tisanoreica” to every reporter on the red carpet.

Showtime’s “Original Latin Diva” and Snoop Dogg’s “Bad Girl of Comedy” comedian Monique Marvez – now sitting in special slots on talk radio giants KTLK AM and KFI AM – is also on the new diet, spurred by her friend Mary’s success. The “Not Skinny Not Blonde” Showtime star was effusive. “I am amazed at how much weight I have lost so far, over eight pounds in two weeks,” said Marvez. “Weight does not come off easily for me, and I am now taking my Magic Bullet mixer with me everywhere to make their protein shakes and soups. I’m results oriented, and this diet works.”

Mech, the company president and heir to the centuries’ old recipes of Decottopia, the herbal extracts at the root of this lifestyle diet explains, “What distinguishes this from other weight-loss plans are what we call in Italy ‘Decotoppia’-the herbal liquid extracts my family developed during the Renaissance to promote and maintain good health. They’re the original preventive medicine.”

He also tells M&C that he has come to love both Murphy and Marvez as his two new diet devotees, and wants them – and all who are interested in a vacation where you will get slim – to come to a special place off the Italian coast: The island of Ischia.

Ischia – next to the isle of Capri – is the new home of the Tisanoreica Mediterranean diet.  The agreement between Gianluca Mech and the University of Padova, Italy has inked exclusive deals with local restaurants and hotels to serve the Tisanoreica foods and cuisine so people can dine on fabulous meals and get slim.

Murphy quipped, “I always thought if I went to Italy, I’d get fat on pasta, not the case anymore!”
