Mary Murphy Shows off 20 Pound Weight Loss on SYTYCD Finale (VIDEO)

Mary Murphy, the new American spokesperson for Italy’s most popular weight-loss program, Tisanoreica, dubbed “the Italian Comfort Food Diet” is down 20 pounds in 6 weeks. The leggy former ballroom dancer celebrated this feat by having a dance with “So You Think You Can Dance” fellow judge Nigel Lythgoe on the season finale.

Gianluca Mech selected Mary for her personality and interest in the lifestyle diet and product line of staple foods that allows you pizza, pasta and other traditionally carb laden goodies while you slim down. Their products are made with special herbal extracts and fiber that mimic flour and grain, but process differently and allow you to whittle down.

Showtime’s “Original Latin Diva” and Snoop Dogg’s “Bad Girl of Comedy” comedian Monique Marvez – now sitting in special slots on talk radio giants KTLK AM and KFI AM – is also on the new diet, spurred by her friend Mary’s success.

Mech, the company president and heir to the centuries’ old recipes of Decottopia, the herbal extracts at the root of this lifestyle diet explains, “What distinguishes this from other weight-loss plans are what we call in Italy ‘Decotoppia’-the herbal liquid extracts my family developed during the Renaissance to promote and maintain good health. They’re the original preventive medicine.”

He explained how Tisanoreica products are based on 500-year-old secret herbal formulas, passed down generation by generation. As the heir apparent of the family’s legacy, he embarked on an ambitious 10-year research program, in conjunction with the University of Padua to create a weight-loss program based on the time-honored herbal extracts.

The diet was officially introduced to America June 8 at the spa at Ignazio & Maggio Cipriani’s Mr. C Hotel, Pico and Beverwil, adjacent to Beverly Hills. Italian Consul General Giuseppe Perrone welcomed a packed audience to Mech’s presentation at Sala Rosellini Theater in Westwood.

Among the celebrities attending the dinner presentation were Nastassja Kinski, Maria Conchita Alonso, ballroom dancing champion and USA Tisanreica spokesperson Mary Murphy, Michael Marisi Ornstein (Sons Of Anarchy), and Emmy winning Eye On LA producer and writer of “The Legends Of Laurel Canyon,” Tina Malave.

At 43-years old, the trim and fit Mech gives an appearance of a man at least 10 years younger and hardly needing a weigh-loss program. Mech also uses chef Giuseppe Gentile of Fico, a popular Italian bistro in Los Angeles, tocreate Tisanoreica meals for TV spots and segments. Some of the low carb dishes include cheese pizza appetizers, polpetini (mini meatballs) and mushroom sauce, pasta with a traditional Bolognese sauce, braised beef ribs with vegetables, a casserole of zucchini, rice and Parmesan cheese and for dessert, vanilla profiteroles and chocolate-blackberry tarts.

“No one on the Tisanoreica Diet will ever starve,” laughed Mech, during the dinner. “We now know from research that depriving the body of calories in an effort to lose weight only creates a yo-yo effect where ultimately, more weight is gained. The key to losing weight is stimulating the metabolism through natural herbs until the ideal weight is achieved and then maintaining it. “Tisanoreica is more than just a diet. It’s a lifestyle that begins with weight loss and continues with health eating habits made easier through our unique, all natural herbal-infused products,” he added. The diet products are available now online (http://store.gianlucamechspa.com/us/) and soon at select retail and other outlets.

The rewards of Tisanoreica were seen in primetime television as Tuesday night’s “So You Think You Can Dance” finale, Amy Yakima and DuShaunt “Fik-Shun” Stegall were crowned the Season 10 co-champions.

But co-judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy together stole the show with their own remake of a famous Amy/Fik-Shun “SYTYCD” routine.
