The Pippa ‘lift’: A new plastic surgery trend

NEED A LIFT?
Women all over the world coveted Pippa Middleton’s ivory, Sarah Burton-designed dress as they watched the royal wedding. Some viewers also wondered how they could look like the perky maid of honor.

Now plastic surgeons have dubbed a procedure to make that happen the “Pippa butt lift.”

Does the desire to replicate that region of the body sound familiar? Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian have been recent role models for some women.

But reports in the media say that Pippa’s posterior is the new paragon, especially for petite women.

“The latest craze here in the U.S. and all over the world is to get the ‘Pippa Butt Lift,’ ” Miami-based celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Constantino Mendieta told FOX411’s Pop Tarts. “Once the breast implants reigned supreme, now it is the buttocks that are considered a woman’s best asset.”

ABC’s “Good Morning America” earlier this week interviewed a patient of Mendietta, a 28-year-old single mother who went for Pippa’s look. “Her frame just looked incredible in that dress,” said the woman, Christina Valdez. “I love the results … I feel sexy.”

The procedure involves lipsuction on the stomach, with that fat transplanted into the buttocks. The surgery takes 2 hours; Recovery can take 6 weeks.

The body contouring craze also is being met with criticism.

“If you want a nice backside,” suggested one commenter on ABC’s website, “lift weights and build the glutes. You don’t need to ‘sculpt fat’  in that area. You can’t build breasts, but you can certainly build an attractive backside.”

Tush Talk: Dr. Mendieta Talks Proper Buttocks-Enhancement Proceedure

The desire to have a bodacious bottom in Miami is bigger than other American cities, as the climate allows for little clothes and is known for sexy bodies, gorgeous beaches and beautiful people, all celebrated in numerous rap videos and TV shows like Showtime’s “Dexter” and USA’s “Burn Notice.”

Style icons like Sophia Vergara, J-Lo and Kim Kardashian also have elevated the tush as a focal point, with rounder and bigger being better.

Dr. Constantino Mendieta has perfected a procedure where he lifts and plumps your buttocks through an incision in the gluteal crease. It rejuvenates the buttocks without major incisions. The result is a perfect Bikini bottom.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Mendieta moved to his parents homeland in Nicaragua. His uncle – a plastic surgeon – reconstruct the disfigured faces of war victims, restoring them to near-normal appearance. Dr. Mendieta made his career path early in life as he was deeply affected by his Uncle’s reconstructive skills. He returned to the United States to complete his secondary education and build his practice.

Dr. Mendieta’s practice is in Miami, Florida, where he has perfected his own method of butt enhancement. http://www.buttsbymendieta.com/

As we age so many unfortunate things occur, one of them being the effects of gravity on your largest muscle group covered in fat: The Gluteus Maximus.

Similar to how fillers are pumped into faces to rebuild lost volume from age, so can your bottom be plumped up with fat.  Not just any fat, but your own fat, which makes it a win-win of asset redistribution, according to Dr. Mendieta.

24/7 Access to Your Docor Becoming More Common Practice

(KTVI – FOX2now.com)–

Sick and tired of never being able to actually talk to your doctor?  What if there was a way to turn back the clock, to establish a personal relationship with a physician that was common years ago.
Now there, but it comes at a price.  It’s commonly called “concierge medicine,” though don’t let the name fool you: Having 24/7 access to your doctor through cell phone and email, and having longer, more personal appointment times, isn’t just for the super wealthy.
For about $1800 a year, the woman you’re about to meet in the accompanying video to this story has access to her doctor whenever she needs it.  How does the doctor feel about that?  He says he didn’t convert his practice to make more money; rather he did it to spend more quality time with his patients.

Brazilian butt lift now in the Philippines

OVER the last few years, the rear has come up front, literally. The buttocks have picked up more attention than ever before. Women, even some men alike, have learned to whine – “I want a firmer butt,” or worse, “Your rear is too flat!”

Clarity Aesthetic Medical and Dental Center now offers all rear-conscious individuals out there yet another breakthrough solution to their bodily woes. “The Brazilian butt lift is a type of butt augmentation procedure that transfers patient’s fats to their rear end, resulting to a naturally youthful, more perky-looking buttocks, and ultimately, a more sensual body profile,” according to Dr. Alfredo V. Callanta.

This breakthrough procedure initially removes fat from selected areas of the patient’s body, purifies the fat, then re-injects selected donor fat cells into your buttocks – which eliminates possibility of rejection of the body. The Brazilian butt lift also looks more natural than the regular buttock implants, without the unwanted incisions and stitches which cause scars.

With his expertise in using fat graft to the face for facial rejuvenation as the Philippines’ premier FAMI (Fat Autologous Muscular Injection) practitioner, Dr. Callanta is now rearing the application of fat graft to the buttocks. He is using the technique of renowned Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Constantino Mendieta, who has perfected the art of body sculpting. The Mendieta technique is patient-specific, in which the doctor will remove the amount of fat necessary to provide the patient with her desired shape and size.

Fat may be extracted from several body parts, which includes the abdomen, thighs and arms, depending on the patient and where he or she carries excessive weight.

Megan Fox”fat” face is not from surgery

Megan Fox”fat” face is not from surgery

There have been some rumours circulating that Megan Fox has had surgery to give her a fuller face but it appears that this is not the case. Dr. Chiu of Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeryclaims that, while surgery was a possibility it appears that Megan Fox has simply put on weight.

Megan Fox has had surgery to give her a fuller face but it appears that this is not the case. Dr. Chiu of Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery claims that, while surgery was a possibility it appears that Megan Fox has simply put on weight.

Dr. Chiu explained, “When you look at her whole body and specifically, arms, it appears that she simply gained weight, which would be a much more reasonable explanation for the fullness of her face.  After all, why would she want to make her face look fuller and lose the high cheekbones and strong jaw line that have defined her facially as a sex symbol for the current/younger generation?”
Dr. Aaron Rollins of SonoBello in Beverly Hills added, “In fact her fuller face shows deeper lines in her naso labial folds.” Megan Foxhas been working hard to change her image and, as well as removing a belly button piercing, she is also removing some of her tattoos.

Future Reimbursement Cuts Could Affect Healthcare Employment and Quality

Future Reimbursement Cuts Could Affect Healthcare Employment and Quality

By Debra Wood, RN, contributor

October 24, 2011 – While technology holds promise to improve efficiencies and outcomes, healthcare remains a people business, with high-quality care dependent on having enough nurses and other staff available to pick up subtle changes in patients’ conditions, ensure best practices are followed through and provide the care patients need. Yet with unemployment hovering around 9 percent, state and federal lawmakers are considering further cuts to government reimbursements.

“Cuts exacerbate problems,” said Jim Kaufman, Ph.D., vice president of public policy at the National Association of Children’s Hospitals in Alexandria, Va. “If you keep cutting, you eliminate efforts [to improve coordination to give the patient the most cost-effective, best quality care]. You will end up driving up costs in the long run.”

Quality must remain on the radar, since reimbursement will be more greatly tied to results, but at the same time organizations must find ways to reduce operating costs. The 2011 HealthLeaders Media Industry Survey of Finance Leaders showed a shift in priorities since 2009, when 68 percent of respondents cited quality and patient safety as their top priority. That slipped to 34 percent in 2011, with cost cutting now coming out as the top priority at 39 percent.

Fillers or Filling Out? Megan Fox’s New Face Sparks Speculation

She might have bowed out of (or been fired from) the last “Transformers,” but is Megan Fox now undergoing some transformations of her own?

The actress, 25, has come under suspicion in the media for unnecessarily prodding and plumping her otherwise youthful and attractive face. Fox sported a casual look as she stepped out to the Hollywood premiere of “Puss in Boots” on Sunday, looking markedly different than when she was pap-snapped on a night out in May.

“Megan looks like a Cabbage Patch Doll version of herself. Her cheeks appear plumped, possibly from injections of a filler like Sculptra,” Dr. Tony Youn, who does not work with Fox, told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “It is possible that she’s still swollen, so within a couple days she might look a lot better. She’s definitely transformed!”

Brooke Barlow, R.N. Aesthetics at the BioMed Spa, in Beverly Hills, who doesn’t treat the star, also told RadarOnline that Fox “definitely has had some work done” – most likely “fat transfer or dermal fillers.”
