Doctor Defends Himself in Death of Miami DJ Betty Pino

A South Florida plastic surgeon is defending himself from what he says are inconsistencies in the autopsy report in the death of a popular Miami DJ.

The autopsy from the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner says the cause of death for Betty Pino, known as the “Queen of Radio” in South Florida, was “delayed complications of cosmetic surgical procedure.

But Dr. Constantino Mendieta, a specialist in sculpting glutes, says he performed a reconstructive procedure, not a cosmetic one, and says the report has the name of another doctor in it.

“There are some gross inconsistencies that we are going to address with them,” Mendieta said Thursday. “In the report it stated that I removed silicone implants, I did not do that. It calls me Dr. Rivera which I am not Dr. Rivera.”

There are times in medicine that benefit the patient and the doctor when they are the same sex. Male patients often prefer male doctors in areas of prostate cancer, and the same can be said for women and breast cancer.

Fast food, late nights to blame for obesity in Gulf – top doc

A penchant for fast and fatty food and a lifestyle of late nights and no exercise are the main causes of the Gulf’s obesity epidemic, according to a leading US orthopedic surgeon.

Dr Raj, who started a practice in Dubai nine months ago in addition to his successful Beverley Hills practice, said one of the biggest issues in the Middle East was knee problems, which was the result of people carrying extra weight.

“There’s two issues of genetics and environmental and we’re not controlling the environmental aspect as much,” Dr Raj, whose clients include royal family members and Hollywood celebrities, said.

October is Breast Cancer awareness month, female plastic surgeon’s unique perspective

Drchristinepetti

Any woman who’s had a baby understands that there is no way to describe the experience to a man. Words cannot do it justice. This is why many of us prefer to go to a female gynecologist/obstetrician. This intimate process is often easier with a doctor of the same sex who can empathize.

This same level of comfort and confidence carries over when it comes to breast cancer. For many of us, it is hard to imagine that a male doctor can grasp the trauma of breast cancer; they can`t understand what it means, both emotionally and physically, for a woman to be faced with having all or part of a breast removed.
